Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 2026
Welcome to the Privacy Policy for Alan Green Photography ("we", "us", "our").
We operate the website www.alangreenphotography.co.uk (the "Site") and provide Commercial Brand Photography Services in the United Kingdom.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your data when you visit our website, enquire about our services, or work with us as a Brand Photography client.
For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we are the Data Controller for your personal data.
1. The Data We Collect About You
Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use and store different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:
Identity Data: First name, last name, business name and job title.
Contact Data: Billing address, email address and telephone number.
Financial Data: Bank account and payment card details (processed securely via our third-party payment processors).
Transaction Data: Details about payments to and from you and other details of services you have purchased from us.
Technical Data: Internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system, and platform via website cookies.
Visual Data (Photography): digital photographic images, video footage or raw files captured during a Brand Photography Shoot; which may contain identifiable images of you, your employees, or any models you have utilised.
2. How We Collect Your Data
We use different methods to collect data from and about you, including:
Direct Interaction: You give us your Identity, Contact, and Financial data by filling in forms on our site (e.g., a contact form), booking a discovery call, signing a contract, or communicating with us by email or phone.
During a Photoshoot: We collect Visual Data directly via our camera equipment during our contracted Photography sessions.
Automated Technologies: As you interact with our website, we automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment and browsing patterns via cookies and Google Analytics (or your analytics provider).
3. Our Lawful Basis for Processing Your Data
Under the UK GDPR, we must have a valid legal reason to process your data. Most commonly, we rely on the following bases:
Performance of a Contract: Processing your data is necessary to fulfil our photography contract with you (e.g., communicating about the shoot, delivering the images).
Legitimate Interests: Processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests (e.g., managing our business, administrative tracking and sharing photographs we have taken of you, for our own promotional purposes. In relation to the latter, this could include use on our website(s) or on social media).
4. How We Use and Share Your Visual Data (Your Photos)
Because we shoot Brand Photography, your final images are inherently intended for commercial and public use. However, we take data protection seriously:
Delivery Galleries: We upload your digital images to online client galleries (via “Instaproofs”) that can be password protected, should you request. These galleries are private unless you choose to share the link or any password.
Third-Party Processors: We may share your data with trusted third parties who help us run our business (for example; email hosts, client management systems and professional printing labs).
5. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers (such as website hosts or gallery platforms) may be based outside the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA) and whilst we expect them to respect and protect the data we may share with them, we have no way of controlling how they use it.
6. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it and for our own promotional purposes.
7. Your Legal Rights
Under UK data protection laws, you have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
* Request access to your personal data (a "Subject Access Request").
* Request correction of inaccurate data.
* Request erasure of your personal data ("the right to be forgotten").
* Object to or restrict the processing of your data.
* Withdraw consent at any time, to process your data (such as portfolio display).
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.
